Hydrogeological Investigation
When is a hydrogeological investigation carried out?
Hydrogeological or groundwater investigation is carried out to determine:
- the prospective water-bearing horizon and its suitability for the intended use of the water;
- the characteristics of the selected horizon (groundwater level fluctuations, flow direction and gradient, the degree of protection of the horizon, etc.);
- the quality status of the groundwater (physicochemical parameters, microbiological and other indicators);
- the technical condition of existing water abstraction boreholes, their operational yield, and usage.
