The most common mineral resources in Latvia are clay, sand, sand-gravel, unconsolidated freshwater limestones, peat deposits, sandy clay, clay sand, and aleurite. Mineral extraction must be carried out in accordance with the conditions of the mineral extraction project, and the quantity of extracted mineral resources must be recorded in compliance with the requirements specified in Cabinet Regulation No. 570.
